Virginia Plastic Borders Installation

The Commonwealth of Virginia is known for its gardens, its sweeping estates, and its educational system. In every one of these places, you’ll find a need for plastic borders, mostly as garden edging and to retain playground safety materials. Installing our borders is as easy here as anywhere: just line them up, fit them together, and drive in the 30″ steel stakes using a sledgehammer or mallet. If you’re looking for assistance with the installation, our company is standing by to help. We started business in 1986, so we have almost 30 years of experience installing borders on properties all over Virginia.

Plastic Borders Work Area in Virginia

Our company has extensive clientele and work experience in the Commonwealth of Virginia. We work most frequently in the northern part of the state, including Arlington County, Fairfax County, and Loudoun County, but we’re accustomed to traveling further south down I-95, to Stafford and Accoquan. If you’re located any further south than that, please phone us to discuss your project. We may well be able to travel to your location, and if we can’t, we can certainly ship you the borders and offer you advice over the telephone about installing them.

Possible Problems with Plastic Borders in Virginia

If you’re in an area with hard soil or significant rocks in the soil, it’ll be slightly more difficult to install our plastic borders. The main qualification is being able to drive a steel spike 18 inches into the ground without obstruction (the spike is 30″ long, and 12″ of it will be above ground level). Even a strong person with a large sledgehammer may not be able to drive a steel spike through a large rock or stone. So, if there’s an obstacle under ground, you should prepare yourself to think creatively and flexibly about how to get that spike in the ground.

Similarly, using our plastic borders close to trees can be difficult sometimes if there are large root systems in the top 18″ below grade.

Finally, if you’re not certain that the ground you’re installing the borders in is free of underground pipes in its top 18″, you should check ahead of time with the relevant sources and authorities, like Miss Utility of Virginia.
